As of 1 April, 2023, nine GP practices are now part of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust which sees the Trust directly responsible for the delivery of care.
Being a PCN under The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust offers a unique opportunity to redesign services from initial patient contact through ongoing management and end of life care.
As a single organisation the issues of scope of responsibility, funding, differing objectives and drivers will be removed and clinicians will be in a position to design effective, high quality clinical pathways which will improve appropriate access and positively impact on patient outcomes.
The PCN is working towards making more services available for you such as later and weekend appointments, social prescribing and first contact physiotherapy. We are working in conjunction with health and social care services across Wolverhampton to provide you, your family and carers with improved access.
This means if you’re registered at one of our practices and you cannot get an appointment with your usual GP, you will be offered an alternative PCN appointment at one of the other GP practices. For further information on any of the services available to you, please speak to your practice or click here.
Additional appointments are now available to all Primary Care Network practice patients. Details of the extended access can be found on the below.
Unity Enhanced Access (access appointments at the weekends, weekday evening and bank holidays). Unity Hub will be providing GP and nursing appointments for all patients that are registered under VI.
More information about Unity Hub can be found here.
