Double whammy – Wolverhampton GP Nursing Team shortlisted for two national awards

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust’s Primary Care Network (PCN) has been shortlisted for its second national award of the year.

The Trust’s PCN Nursing Team has been shortlisted under the category of ‘Nursing Team of the Year’ as part of this year’s General Practice wards and ‘Nursing in Primary Care’ for the annual Nursing Times Awards.

Nurses have made a number of improvements to the way patients access GP services, for example, including the introduction of clinics for asylum seekers, dedicated sexual health and mental health support, clinics for people without a registered home address and much more.

Group Manager Rachael Brown said: “I’m thrilled that our Primary Care Nursing Team has been recognised at a national level, not once but twice this year.

“This shortlisting news reflects the hard work and dedication of our Nurses. They have made a huge difference, and continue to improve access to the PCN’s nine GP surgeries for our patients.”

Both prestigious events take place in London later this year.
